“Chillán Electric Cooperative Building” (Copelec)

Recognized as one of the great national works and declared as a historical monument in 2008, Copelec stands out for its imposing modern architecture, being one of the country's maximum references in that style.

It was built between 1962 and 1965, in a downtown area of Chillán, under the design and direction of architects Isidro Suárez Fanjul, Jesús Bermejo, and Juan Borchers. The predominant use of reinforced concrete can be appreciated in the work, as well as an original design that brings light and color to the building.
